My question is, do I have to have an SSL cert. to use Authorize.net ARB with eStore and the payment gateway bundle for my membership site.

I would rather send customers to Authorize.net if I can. Is this possible?

Yes, the authorize.net ARB requires SSL certificate. Whenever you are processing credit cards on your site, you will need to have SSL certificate (its a requirement from the payment gateway). This is one of many reasons why we separated these payment gateway options in a different plugin.
