Thanks for that, turns out that the process does also work on mobile iOS (chrome), but takes such a long time to start playing that I thought it was broken. When it did start steaming eventually, it played 1/3 of a 13 min mp3 before it cycled back to the start. Not good!

So you say it is a well known issue, but yet I’ve listened to many downloads on my ipad before that start immediately and continue to their end? Do you have any successful clients that you can point to and what they did to make it work, even if there was some customization employed?

Which generation of iPad are you using?

Ipad 2 running ios 7.1.2

I could test on iphone 6 plus running ios 8.1.2 to see if the behavior is different on newer hardware

Yes, definitely do a test on newer hardware. This is not really an issue with the plugin. Some of the older mobile device hardwares just doesn’t have all the capability to process encrypted downloads.
