    Dear estore friends

i discover a problem with my digital product selling

I do add a new product – under the tab digital download URL I use upload file.

After i see the file location:

After someone purchase he get a goog.le short link to download his purchase

Anyhow .. the location is not safe and secured. Anyone who can find the link, especially the way “wp-content/uploads” is well known… can download with no payment.

How to make sure this can not happen!

I did try to put my file to a owncloud installation and make it secure. Customers did only receive a .php feedback and no file.

So I receive a lot complaints. :( I need to change back to the other way. Still I think it is not a safe and secure way. If I set a .htaccess file in this way e.g./uploads, i will probably deny completly the chance for customers to downlaod their purchase.

Any recommendations about this issue !?

    1. The “Digital Product URL” is supposed to be in “clear text.”
    2. For this file, remember to select the “Downloadable” option under “Digital Content Details” for the product.

    1. The only “cloud” storage we officially support is Amazon S3:

    2. If you attempt to use anything else, you will instantly DOUBLE the bandwidth usage of your server.

Customers did only receive a .php feedback and no file.

Customers received an “encrypted download link.” That is what protects your download links from being shared. Did you try to follow the link?
