Is there a way to show proportional image rather than square thumb in fancies? I’ve seen this thread elsewhere and tried all the proposed solutions: ie,:
Re: In most cases using the “smart thumbnail option” will automatically take a correct snapshot of the image so it doesn’t look squished.
This doesn’t work for me! The main problem for me is that my images are inherently rectangular (books). So when I check the “Enable Smart Thumbnail” option” and [wp_eStore_fancy1 id=1] still appears square/squished…
Re: One easy alternative which doesn’t require messing with any code is to create a page with your desired image and information and then simply use the Add to Cart or Buy Now button shortcode.
Yes, but I’d like to use WP Estore shopping cart….
Re: CSS modification… I’m a very beginning non-coder? What code do we use and where?
Making square in photoshop?
This works, but would I would prefer a faster way, using smart, proportional images…
Thanks!
October 14, 2012 at 2:30 am #50337adminKeymasterYou can change the shape of the default thumbnail image size via CSS (this would be the easiest option). There are some example CSS codes in the following post which will help you with the change (you don’t need to know a lot of CSS for this):

Simply disable the smart thumbnail option from eStore settings. Then use the CSS tweaks mentioned above to make the thumbnail size rectangular.
This post is also a good read for you:
Creating a separate landing page for your product (where you will put all the desired info of the product) doesn’t mean you can’t use eStore in there. This is how you do this:
1) Create a WordPresss post/page and then place all the details and any other information (images, videos etc) of the product in the page.
2) Now, somewhere on this page use eStor’s shortcode to place a normal “Add to Cart” button on the page to facilitate the purchase of this product. eStore has shortcodes that lets you embed only a purchase button without any fancy template. Take a look at the following landing page for an example (see how the add to cart buttons have no other details with it?):
