Tagged: email tags
Hello,
I have a client using WP eStore who wants to ask customers how they came across her website upon checkout, as she has various ads running and wants to see which are most and least effective. Is there a way to add a drop down to the cart interface that has certain options and then an “other” box where people can input something different (a referral from an individual, for instance)?
Thanks,
Kait
What may work for this is to use the shipping variation. You can change the name of this option in the language file of the eStore to say something like “Where did you hear about us”
Then you can make the variations the ad sources. However you wont be able to do the other option with collection box.

I used the shipping variation option and entered this in the box:
Source|Bizarre Bazaar|Cues & Tattoos Belly Dance Festival|Dark Fairy Ball|Esoteric Book Conference|Folk Life|Fremont Summer Solstice|Mediterranean Fantasy Festival|Mourning Market|Pagan Pride|Punk Rock Flea Market|Spring Mysteries Festival|Terra Witches Ball|Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire|Woman of Wisdom|Hedgewytch Magazine|Hex Magazine|Plant Healer Magazine|Sage Woman Magazine|Witches and Pagans Magazine|Facebook Page|Web Search|Other
I also checked for the shipping variation to always display.
The client just emailed me and said that they can’t find the selection in their orders- where is that information located? Do I need to put :0.001 after each entry to get it to show up in the order or something?
Thanks
Have you entered the following email tag where you want their selection to show up in the sale notification email?
{shipping_option_selected}
All the available email tags that you can use in an email to insert dynamic info is listed in the following documentation:
