Just wondering if this is possible.
I would like to have two different products using the same inventory pool, so that when the pool is used up both products are “sold out”.
for example, if I sell a service at $2000 and the same service at 3 payments of $700, and I only want to offer 10 of the service in total, can I link the two services so that when 10 combined are sold they are sold out?
I did look at using product bundles, but even if one part of the bundle is sold out, the whole bundle is still available for purchase.
Any thoughts?
Just wondering if this is possible before I look at a workaround.
I am using the latest public release of WP eStore and WordPress 3.6
Thanks!
No, two different products can’t use the inventory of one product. They will each have separate inventory count.
You could create just one eStore product (fill out both the standard price section and the subscription section). Then use two different shortcodes for this same product:
1) One for the one time purchase option (add to cart or buy now)
2) The other for the subscription payment option
Then you are using one product to offer two different payment options and they will share the same inventory count.
