eStore- free shipping discount not applied to paypal profile based shipping

I have created a discount code for free shipping so that people i know can order and just pickup their items from me. The discount applies in the shopping cart and then when you continue to the paypal checkout page, it applies shipping. Is there anyway around this? I am using the product weight option to calculate my shipping.

The PayPal profile based shipping will ignore any shipping stuff and apply the shipping you configured in your PayPal account.

In your PayPal profile you should enable the option that allows the cart to override the shipping. Which may work better for you. The following post has details on how to enable this option:

Alternatively, you can probably just use the manual/offline checkout option for the users that are going to pick up the item directly from you. That way these users won’t have to go through the standard PayPal checkout process.
