I have a client who would like to offer a proofreading service where clients purchase the service and upload a file. Can WP eStore or other add ons handle this?
Also looking for a way to easily manage the work flow. We need to build in a workflow that flows something like:
1. Pending (customer creates account, provides billing information, and uploads document)
2. Working (employee is working on the customer submitted document)
3. Completed (employee has uploaded the revised document, the customer is notified and can now download it)
Note: A customer may upload multiple documents at the same time, or over time. The workflow needs to validate payment has been received for each document.
Your feedback on whether I might be able to do this in eStore is greatly appreciated.
What you can do is a variation of the PPV scenario. Instead of paying for access to a protected page with a video player; buyers pay for access to a protected page with the upload service. See if this makes sense to you:

Alternatively, you can also use the eMember plugin, with eStore, to sell memberships to a proofreading service. This will address the capability to pay once, and access the service over a length of time:
But no way for customers to upload a file when purchasing the service?
Yes, they can upload; but you have to provide the mechanism for this to happen. Both eStore and/or eMember will only provide the access to your upload mechanism of choice.
