Today I got an email from Stripe concerning a webhook problem. As I only interface to Stripe through eStore I haven’t got a clue what it means, but it has left me concerned about the integration not working properly. Here is the main content of the email:
“It looks like we’ve had a bit of trouble delivering webhooks to your live webhook handler running at [http://www.flashvocabulary.com/?wppg_subsc=1&event=stripe]. Since 2015-10-25 02:37:01 +0000, at least 986 of the times we’ve attempted to deliver a webhook have failed, and none have succeeded. Looking at the most recent failure, we received an HTTP status code of 301 from your webhook URL. It looks like your webhook URL returned a redirect to [https://www.flashvocabulary.com/?wppg_subsc=1&event=stripe]. However, our webhook system only treats a webhook delivery as successful if we get back a status code between 200 and 299, so this redirect is considered a failure. You may just want to update your webhook URL to [https://www.flashvocabulary.com/?wppg_subsc=1&event=stripe].
In order to reduce load on our systems, we’ll stop sending webhooks to this URL if we continue to see failures after November 03. However, we’d appreciate it if you could either fix the issue or delete the webhook URL before then.”
Is there something I/estore needs to do to fix this? Help much appreciated!
Thanks
Derek

October 28, 2015 at 11:35 pm #71750wpCommerceModerator@wordbuff, You need to change your webhook URL to https://www.flashvocabulary.com/?wppg_subsc=1&event=stripe
When I go to your website – http://www.flashvocabulary.com, it automatically does a 301 redirection to the https version. That’s where the issue is.

@wpCommerce – Yes, the message pretty much says that but I have no idea how or where to change that. I just used your shortcodes to do everything. Where do I change that URL?
October 29, 2015 at 12:26 am #71752wordbuffMemberOk – I went into my stripe account and managed to find where to edit the relevant webhook. Is that all I need to do?
BTW, this error happened because I sorted out my SSL certificate *after* setting eStore. It might be worth mentioning this point in the doco somewhere for people who realize/decide to get SSL after they’ve done their integration.
