I only actually tried the Amazon S3 option because the regular download from my site was not working, and I wanted to try Amazon S3 to see if I could get it to work.
Note that I CAN use the Admin functions to get a proper download link, and when I copy-paste it into my address bar, the file downloads fine.
Note also that I CAN add the item to my cart, purchase it through Payal, and have a good working link sent to my email.
The only thing I CANNOT do is use the download_now_button shortcodes so that the file downloads when clicked.
Note three things (that may or may not be related):
1. The AJAX functionality of WP eStore does not work for me. Whenever I add an item to the cart, the whole page reloads (unless the Advanced Variations UI plugin is actived, then nothing happens whatsoever).
2. I turned on the debug logs, but when I try to clear them, they do not clear. I went and changed the permission on the log file from 0644 to 0664, but that did not seem to do anything.
3. You mentioned in another forum thread about bundling digital variations ( https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/format-variations-on-ebooks ). That did not work for me. If it should work, then maybe that is a problem related to this download issue I am facing.
Also, I just now submitted the form to grant tech support access to my blog…

What are the permissions on the plugin directory? They should be 0755.
I’m going to wait for @admin to address the AJAX issues, but I’ll let you know if I find anything before he checks in.

The individual .php and .log files in the wp-cart-for-digital-products folder are set to 0644.
EDIT: I figured something out… the Download buttons work FINE on my site when using WP eStore 6.9.7.2
I discovered this by:
1. Deactivating ALL plugins except WP eStore
2. Reverting my blog theme to the default WordPress 2014 Theme.
3. The download buttons still did not work.
4. I deleted the WP eStore plugin, and then reinstalled the OLD version which used to work for me. The download buttons now worked fine.
5. I activated my Genesis Child Theme and tested download links. They still worked.
6. I reactivated all my plugins, and tested the download links again. They still worked.
So as of now, I am running WP eStore 6.9.7.2 since it is working for me.
