eStore-eAffiliate – Revenue sharing AND affiliate commission to the same person

Hi,

I’m using eStore and eAffiliate and I have affiliates AND have set up revenue sharing.

I’d like to know how I setup an author to also receive affiliate commissions if they send a customer to the site through an affiliate link.

Right now, I have the author setup two different affiliate accounts, one for the revenue share and one for affiliate sales. So, when the author makes an affiliate sale, he first gets his affiliate commission to one account, then his author share to the other account.

Is that the best way to set it up, or is there any easier/more efficient way to do it that I am now seeing?

Yes, that is the proper way to set it up.

Hi, I am using eStore and the eAffiliate system for commissions and revenue sharing as well, but instead of the affiliate system giving BOTH an affiliate and an author cut, is there a way to give one or the other?

In other words, if someone buys a product using the author’s affiliate link the author would only receive the revenue sharing amount and not an additional affiliate commission as well. Some sort of check where if the author is is also the affiliate the system only awards one or the other.

Hi Elanor, No it is not possible to do that. If you don’t want your authors to earn commission on top of the normal profit share from the product sale then you can tell them to not refer customers using their affiliate link.

Thanks! The thing is if the affiliate doesn’t send out with their link then they can’t make commission on any of the other products in our store. I just wanted to have authors be able to earn commissions on anyone else’s products, but when it came to their own product, to only receive their author cut since they get a large percentage that’s fixed for being author.

That is a feature I would jump up and down to see as most people in my field are doing the same thing as me. They give a set percentage to the author and because none of us can find a cart that has the ability to give just a set % to the author and then regular commissions for anything else in the store, they are either dropping their general affiliate program or figuring commissions out manually which leaves the author having to take the word of their promoter on how many sales they made and is a headache for the promoter. So, I would absolutely LOVE to see that added as a functionality.
