Tagged: category dropdown, search feature
Hi, I have been searching the forum but it seems I cannot find what I am looking for.
Is it possible to have a dropdown search feature where people can get results according to the filters they select?
I am hoping to see a search feature where i use filters.
Example: a dropdown for Make of Car, a dropdown for the year or model, and dropdown for the color of the car. So if i select white for the first filter, 2012 for the second filter, and then chevrolet for the third filter… then I expect that the results should be under the following categories: white 2012 chevrolet. So those blue 2012 chevorlet would not be in the results.
Is this possible?
Thank you.
Hello brodneil you might want to read through the following URL
We don’t have a search shortcode with filter options like you explained. If you tell me what filters you want I will investigate it and maybe add a shortcode for it. Category will be one filter and then price could be another… any other filter you have in mind?
Thank you. I will try to read it now.
I am sorry I am still trying to finalize it. But this is initially what i have in mind:
In eStore, under Categories, I am thinking of grouping these categories and use that group to filter for the search feature.
Example of group of categories: color, model, year, engine, make, etc.
Then under each would be:
color: white, blue, silver, etc.
make: chevrolet, ford, toyota, etc.
year: 2013, 2012
So practically, I would like to use whatever I have in the categories for the search feature; or select at least 5 of the group of categories I can use for the search feature.
Hope my explanation is sound. Thank you.
All the best,
Neil
