Thanks. So far I’ve done 10 test purchases or so, and the serial numbers never seem to be ready. Could you give me an idea of how long it might take before the plugin receives the IPN?

Should I tell the user to keep the page open and press refresh a few times if the serial number is missing?

The thank you page display is not 100% reliable. This is why PayPal recommends using the IPN to deliver digital items via the email. IPNs are usually instant but sometimes it can take time (it depends on PayPal).

Its best to tell the user to check the email where all the product download links and the serial keys will be present for sure.

I’m using eStore with License Manager for selling License Keys.

After the successful PayPal payment the License Key emailed to the customer using the {slm_data} in the email.

Can I also have the License Key on the Thank you page ?

Is there any shortcode for that or any guidance to do it ?

    Thank you in advance

    1. The Thank You page is intended as a purchase confirmation; displayed immediately upon return from the payment processor (usually PayPal). At this point, the buyer has only “promised” to pay you.

    2. The email is sent only after a valid IPN has been received and verified. At this point, you have actually received the money.

    3. The API call to the SLM is not made until the IPN has been received and validated (i.e. you got your money).

    4. 30% of the time, the IPN (and your money) has not been received, when the Thank You page is displayed. This is usually due to payment method, network, and “other issues” that are beyond the control of the plugin or the payment processor.

Do you still want to give out the SLM license keys on the Thank You page?
