I have a customer who bought a yearly subscription, and then mistakenly bought another subscription.
I’ve refunded the 2nd, but now I have 2 recurring payments set up.
The paypal customer i.d in eMember is the wrong one.
Do I delete the estore and paypal duplicates?
Thanks
December 14, 2015 at 8:25 pm #72096wzpModeratorThe duplicate PayPal subscription can be cancelled by the member or by you. The users can log into their PayPal account, and cancel the duplicate.
You can manually delete the duplicate membership from the WP eMembers –> Members menu.
The paypal customer i.d in eMember is the wrong one.
Please explain more.
December 14, 2015 at 11:19 pm #72097adminKeymasterIf you cancelled the wrong one then edit the member’s profile from the admin and specify the updated subscription profile ID in the “Subscriber ID” field and save it. That will connect the member to that subscription.
If this is too confusing then just cancel BOTH the subscriptions. Then tell the user to log into his member account and make a NEW subscription payment and the system will apply the new subscription to the account (the one the user is logged-into) and adjust everything.
December 31, 2015 at 10:15 am #72098Hi, thanks for that info.
I cancelled the extra paypal subscription, and deleted the extra eStore profile. So now I have the correct paypal profile, the correct eStore profile but when I try to change the corresponding ‘Unique Reference/Subscriber ID’ in eMember it reverts back to the Unique Reference/Subscriber ID for the payment that I’ve deleted from paypal.
Hope that makes sense.
How do I get eMember to update the Unique Reference/Subscriber ID?

You don’t, and you can’t. That ID is really the MySQL database key index value. It is unique to each database entry. Once issued by MySQL, it can not be modified. To put it into perspective; think of all the “bad things” that can happen if people were allowed to edit the serial numbers of their BitCoins.
December 31, 2015 at 2:51 pm #72100I see. So I guess as long as I get the money and the eMember profile is set to active will that be ok? I don’t have to do anything about the old Unique Reference/Subscriber ID being the paypal id I deleted?
December 31, 2015 at 4:27 pm #72101wzpModeratorAre we talking about the same number? A number that is from 1 to whatever number of members you have?
December 31, 2015 at 11:48 pm #72102adminKeymasterNormally, you should never need to edit this value manually. When a member pays for a new subscription, the plugin will update that value to the new subscriber ID.
We have received many requests from users to allow editing of this value. So we have updated our plugin. You can now manually edit the subscriber ID value. Just be careful when you do because specifying a wrong value will make the plugin not be able to recognize recurring payment for that user.
