estore: compact cart 2 modification

I like everything about the compact_cart2 except that I feel it’s a little ambiguous to only have a number in the parenthesis. I know what it means but I’m not sure my visitors necessarily will. I would like it to include the word “item” or “items” — like this:

Cart is empty (0 items)

[Or just omit the item count & parenthesis since the label already states the cart is empty]

View Cart (1 item)

View Cart (2 items)

etc…

Instead of this:

Cart is empty (0)

View Cart (1)

View Cart (2)

I realize that cart 3 & 4 both offer this, but they aren’t compact enough for the widget column I’m using, and I suspect modifying the php for that is beyond my abilities.

This is not something simple that you can do with a bit of CSS tweak or one line code change somewhere. It will need some custom PHP code modifications. You will have to use the following option:
