Hello
When setting the PayPal settings in the Payment Gateway tab, there is a field:
Collect Instructions on PayPal Checkout Page
I did try to use it, but it doesn’t show on the PayPal checkout page.
Anything specific that I should know about this field ? Please note that I’m also using the Customer input plugin.
Thanks
Gaston
March 28, 2017 at 12:24 am #75382adminKeymasterThat collect instructions field shows up AFTER the customers log into the paypal account just before they hit the final “pay now” button.
Are you just checking the initial checkout landing page on paypal or going through all the steps to test?
April 2, 2017 at 4:59 pm #75383huotg01SpectatorIn fact I dont “log” into the PayPal account because I’m paying with MasterCard.
I’m following the whole process. After paying I’m directed to Paypal who confirms the Payment, and then to the “thank you” page on our web site.

April 3, 2017 at 12:36 am #75384adminKeymasterTheir new checkout page for the credit card doesn’t seem to have the “note” option like they used to. PayPal has been making a lot of changes so not sure if this is something they will add to the card checkout form after they are done making the changes. PayPal has offered this feature for a long time so it doesn’t make sense for them to drop it now. Anyway, we don’t really have any say in what paypal does with their credit card checkout form.
In the meantime, we do have an addon that can solve the issue. This addon will collect the customer input in the shopping cart. Have a look at it:
May 29, 2018 at 12:22 am #7538528Instruct10nalMed94MemberI sent up my new eStore and one product. I installed a payment button only and tested it on a sample product. The test product page is Hollygenser.com/aa-test-product-page. I also tested it on a real product page. Neither a friend nor I could get PayPal to accept a purchase.
When we click the Pay button, we’re taken to a PayPal page that says “Things don’t appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later.” We tried yesterday and at various times today. I am able to log into my PayPal account.
I did include the code from PayPal and my PayPal email in the eStore settings as directed. However, I notice that PayPal has a place to add in a code from a 3rd Party shopping cart. WP eStore is not listed there. eStore instructional videos do not mention such a code. I don’t know if this is the problem or not, but if it is, I will need the code to enter into PayPal.
May 29, 2018 at 12:49 am #75386adminKeymasterNo, you don’t need to put any code in PayPal. All you have to do is use the shortcode of our plugin on a page to create the buy now button (Basically, do what we show in the video tutorial).
One of the values you entered in the product configuration or plugin settings is messing things up. I will need to take a look inside your site and check your setup to see where things are going wrong. I have sent you an email for it.
