Tagged: PayPal, shopping cart
I am setting up an online store using PayPal. Problem is that if a customer changes their mind and decides to alter or cancel an order after going to the PayPal check out screen, there isn’t any way for the customer to do this on the PayPal screen; i.e. there is no “cancel and return to store” button, or just plain “cancel” button on the PayPal screen. The customer has to quit their browser completely to start anew, or, if they use their back arrows to return to the store, when they get back to the store all of their previous selections still show in their shopping cart. But, if they then select something else from the store, all of the previous items disappear and only the newly added item(s) appear in the cart. In other words, at this point the program behaves as if they cancelled on the PayPal screen even though they didn’t. This is all very confusing. (I have contacted PayPal and they say that all of this is a “cart provider” issue – i.e. “not their problem”.) Thank you for looking into this.
Specify the cancel URL in the eStore settings (this will show a cancel link on the PayPal checkout page). The cancel doesn’t do anything other than to just send the user back to a URL on your site (You specify this URL in the settings).
If you don’t want the cart to clear then enable the PDF option. The following post will help:
