Tips and Tricks HQ Support Portal › Forums › WP eStore Forum › WP eStore Troubleshooting › eStore – can't generate any pay-per-view link with URL shortener feature enabled
Hello, I’ve finished the setup of estore plugin. I’ve integrated PayPal information. My site using pay-per-view feature as described here:
https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/using-wordpress-permalinks-as-digital-products-apr-1217
—
Process of payment is OK : all redirections for payment to PayPal and return page to site are working fine.
Payment is workng with correct emails/to client/to admin/from PayPal
But so far, no link was generated.
In the return page : the link sends me back to … the return page
In the email, there is just the item name and … no link
In the admin function, if I generated a link with the product ID, the code is the same : just the item name, and nothing else, no link!
– again I’ve applied the method described here : https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/using-wordpress-permalinks-as-digital-products-apr-1217
I’ve checked the permalink prior to link switch to “aprtp”.
On the page of the digital product (in my case, a streamed video), the conditionnal shortcode works fine for the public. Since I can’t generate a valid link to the page, I can’t tell if the cookie works ok once I open the page (meaning, I can’t access the video that is protected by the shortcode).
All lights are green to me, except for the most important part, the pay-per-view feature = the link generator does not work at all.
– Using version 4.0 of wordpress
– I also tested without any extra extension
Ok I figured out what is happening : so far, there is no error if the shortening service is unreachable for whatever reason.
I’ve just unchecked the “use shortening service…” and the link is well generated.
My suggestion = just a simple error message would be nice.
Hi, thanks for the feedback. We will see what we can do about the error message.
