Hi, i’m using WordPress 4.1 and WP eStore 7.1.7.
I have zip files on Amazon S3, and have been using them for years via eStore. Suddenly, when customers (or I) download one of these zip files, only a small file is download, containing error
Fatal error: Unknown: Cannot use output buffering in output buffering display handlers in Unknown on line 0
When I take the unencrypted url in WP eStore and paste that into a browser, the files download correctly.
Please help?
Thanks
Bennie
January 21, 2015 at 10:00 pm #68190wzpModeratorIt sounds like you have not properly followed the eStore to Amazon S3 integration instructions:
When properly integrated, all downloading activity is handed off to Amazon’s servers.
January 22, 2015 at 11:58 am #68191DeepLivingMemberThanks wzp, it may very well sound like that.
I’ve been using it (WPEstore/S3) for a few years now and have sold a number of those products all ok – and then suddenly it stopped working.
I will go through the instructions again, and maybe it won’t kill you to be a bit more helpful either?
January 22, 2015 at 2:38 pm #68192DeepLivingMemberI’ve been through all the instructions again, and done more testing; 2 hours of it, so I’d really appreciate if you could help me troubleshoot this rather than just telling me to read the manual again, thanks. (not being sarcastic, I’m seriously asking for help as I cannot figure out where I’m going wrong, thx).
In my testing I have moved multiple files, some non-zip files, some zip and some large (e.g. 188mb) zip files, to the same Amazon S3 directory.
I then created a test product, with 3 digital downloads, with the the exact same url (I use a CNAME),but of course with three different file names.
The non-zip and small zip file downloads perfectly, but the large zip file still only downloads a small file with the error message
Fatal error: Unknown: Cannot use output buffering in output buffering display handlers in Unknown on line 0
Any suggestions on what else I can try, much appreciated.
Thanks
January 22, 2015 at 3:17 pm #68193wzpModeratorPlease enable eStore debug logs, save the settings, and then reset the logs. Use the Admin Functions to manually generate a link. Then try the link. If an error occurs, please post the UNEDITED & UNREDACTED contents of the Download_Manager_Debug.log file.
January 22, 2015 at 4:59 pm #68194wzpModeratorAnyway, I played with the url and got it to work as
as3tp://s3.CHAME/folder/folder/file.zip
It never hurts to keep “going over the instructions again…”
January 22, 2015 at 5:25 pm #68195DeepLivingMemberI couldn’t agree with you more.
It’s just that your instructions in the video and https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/amazon-web-services-simple-storage-service-aws-s3-integration-1101 does not work for CNAME setups.
January 22, 2015 at 6:35 pm #68196wzpModeratorI think you’re the second person in 3 years that wanted to use CNAME aliases:
