Tagged: checkout
If I click to check out which takes me to the authorize.net page, then decide I want to change my order and click the back button, my cart gets emptied. Is there a way to have the contents of the cart returned if I click the back button in my browser? I know there is a save cart feature, but I’m thinking of a customer that maybe forgot to add something or changed their mind and want to return to the cart. Thank you! p.s. I’m using Chrome as my browser but I tried it on Firefox and it worked the same way.
Hi, It’s not a good idea to use the back button when you are already on the authorize.net payment page. Depending on the browser sometimes you might see an additional item or no item in the shopping cart.
However, There is an alternative option in the eStore settings – “Enable Fancy Redirection On Checkout”. This will do the redirection in a different way and when your customers use the back button (while they are still being redirected) they will come back to your site.
I know this is an old thread – but customers are facing the same problem: they have the PayPal window open already and from there use the browser-back button. Which leads to the error message “Your cart is empty …”
Before you ask…
– no PHP problem, passed your check successfully
– no caching plugin on site
– specific page for Cancel URL is defined
Where in version 8.2.6 is the “Enable Fancy Redirection On Checkout” located you were mentioning above? I could not find it.
Thanks in advance,
Katharina
Configure the following (the PayPal’s PDT configuration) and then the plugin can empty the cart after the checkout success. This allows the plugin to retain the cart on the way to PayPal’s checkout page.
