I have an item for sale that can be added to the shopping cart from one page and this same product is on a landing page with a buy now button to go straight to PayPal. When the item or any of the other 2 items for sale are added to the cart, at checkout PayPal correctly shows the profile based shipping charges (shipping is applied based on quantity ordered, not weight). When using the wp_eStore_buy_now_custom_button shortcode on the landing page, PayPal is not including the profile shipping charge. Did I miss something to get the “buy now” custom image button to use the paypal profile shipping or is this a bug?
October 29, 2014 at 10:32 pm #66454adminKeymasterAre you choosing the same 2 quantity when using the buy now button also? Please post a link to both the buttons so I can inspect it. What version of eStore are you using?
October 31, 2014 at 1:09 am #66455EricwinMemberI am using version 7.1.6
You can see the add to cart buttons that are working as expected on the following page: [http://www.drkarenruskin.com/purchase-books/]
Right now, I’m using a custom buy now button that I manually created through PayPal (it doesn’t use any of the eStore shortcodes). It is working as expected but I’d prefer to be using one of your shortcodes. Here is the link to the page: [http://www.drkarenruskin.com/purchase-books/dr-karens-marriage-manual/]
If you need to see what happens when I use an eStore shortcode for the buy now button, I will need to either create a temporary page or coordinate with you to temporarily switch the button on the live page.

October 31, 2014 at 3:02 pm #66457EricwinMemberOK, here you go. I created a page and the only thing I included on this page (outside of the header, footer & sidebar) is the following shortcode:
[wp_eStore_buy_now_custom_button id=2 button=http://www.drkarenruskin.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/buy-now-button.png]
Here is the URL of the test page:
You will see that when you add the “Marriage Manual” book to the cart from the purchase books page [http://www.drkarenruskin.com/purchase-books/] and then checkout, PayPal profile shipping is added but when you click the buy now button for that same book on the test page Papal profile shipping is not added. At least that has been my experience.
Please let me know if the problem is on my end or if it is something in your plugin and of course, how I can fix this.
Thanks!!
Eric
October 31, 2014 at 11:10 pm #66458wpCommerceModerator@Ericwin, Have you enabled “Use PayPal Profile Based Shipping” option in the eStore settings? It’s under WP eStore->Settings->Payment Gateway Settings->PayPal Settings.
November 1, 2014 at 8:34 am #66459EricwinMemberNo, I had not enabled that and doing so seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for your help.
Eric
