I need help with integrating eStore with MailChimp. The following setup had been working fine. For example, when someone purchased a teleconference they were automatically added to a MailChimp list and received only a Final Welcome email (no opt-in emails sent).
The current setup:
In MailChimp, a list is set up to send only a Final Welcome email (no opt-in emails).
In eStore MailChimp Settings, Disable Double Opt-in is checked (do not send).
But now that also disables the Final Welcome email.
If I enable double opt-in in eStore, MailChimp sends confirmation emails even though the list in MailChimp is set to send only the final Welcome email.
Is there a workaround?

You can ask mailchimp the following question to verify this.
We are using Mailchimp API v3 to add members to a list. The double opt-in is disabled. Is there any way to send a welcome email when adding via the API and the double opt-in is disabled?

I understand we’re having some trouble adding your subscribers in as single opt in. We can take a look into this and see what may be going on.
While the previous agent was correct in the fact that since your contacts are being added via a third party integration we wouldn’t be able to change that on our end – I did take a look at what information is being sent to us from your integration on the back end.
From what I’m seeing, they’re sending subscribers over to us via the API with the status ‘pending’ This is what is triggering a confirmation email to send. The Pending status means that they want MailChimp to wait until this contacts says Yes before we add them. To have subscriber’s single opt in, they would need to send contacts over with the status ‘subscribed’ instead. This status adds them to the list automatically without any confirmation email.
(note from me – this info below may not be applicable)
Also, in regards to a welcome automation – you can add one to your list and have it send to subscribers no matter the way they opt in or are added to MailChimp! Here’s more on how to get that set up:

August 30, 2018 at 3:54 am #78410adminKeymasterJust to clarify one point… estore DOES send the status of ‘subscribed’ when adding a user (given you have disabled the double opt-in feature in the estore settings. It only sends the status of “pending” when the double opt-in feature is enabled. Just disable the double opt-in feature in estore settings then do a test to add someone to the list. You will see that the user will get added with the status of “subscribed”.
So our plugin is already doing what they are saying in terms of how to add the user to the list. The question was, why the welcome email didn’t get triggered when user was added without double opt-in (for this scenario the user does get added with a status of “subscribed”).

September 11, 2018 at 8:13 pm #78412ElbieParticipantApparently their system has changed. MailChimp support says:
“The Final Welcome Email is trigged after a subscriber confirms from a opt in confirmation email. Because your list is single opt in there wouldn’t be a way to send that out. But, there is another option you can take advantage of if you would like to send a simpler follow up email to your new subscribers when they sign up .
You can create what is called an automation. These automatically send out an email you design based on triggers. You would want to trigger to fire when some one signs up to your list. For reference here’s the link to get that set up here:
