We’re running Yoast’s SEO plugin on our site, and I’m trying to figure out how to include product images in the XML sitemap which it generates. Because the images are wrapped in eStore’s product shortcodes, the SEO plugin doesn’t see them.
Also, the same thing is happening with images used as anchors for pdf files in Lightbox Ultimate. One workaround I could use with the Lightbox Ultimate situation is to just take the actual HTML and use that in the page content instead of the shortcode, but I’m wondering if there’s a better way. Thanks.
February 5, 2013 at 8:04 pm #53624jholleyMemberI’ve noticed the same thing with SEOpressor. WP eStore worked but interfered with SEOpressor’s function; however, the conflict with Lightbox rendered both unusable. I had to disable SEOpressor in order to use Lightbox Ultimate.
February 6, 2013 at 2:52 am #53625adminKeymasterYou should consider using the Google base feed addon of eStore for that:

With that said, Our fancy product displays are really not for advanced users who want to do very slick SEO related stuff with another plugin. There are lots of SEO plugins out there and we won’t be able to code our fancy displays to fit all of their requirements.
Using the fancy product display of eStore is optional (You don’t have to use it). Simply create a WordPress page for a product and do all kinds of optimization to that page using whatever plugin you prefer then use eStore to just place the buy/purchase button for that product. eStore has other shortcodes that can come in handy too. Would someone tell me if there is a way to design the Shortcode Template [wp_eStore_fancy2 id=]
into a regular page so that I would be able to Search Engine Optimize the page?
I think that it would be a really good idea if someone could create a page that shows a way to create all of the shortcoded templates on a regular page so that they could be Search Engine Optimized.
Thanks
June 27, 2014 at 2:43 pm #53627wzpModeratorThe “problem” isn’t with the shortcode, but with the way Yoast looks at content. Shortcodes are rendered when the_content() is rendered by WordPress. Yoast is looking at content before WordPress has a chance to process any shortcodes.
There is actually nothing to optimize in that shortcode anyway. You optimize the page the same way you optimize any WordPress page (Your page title, description and stuff is standard). The eStore shortcode simply adds a button to your landing page that allows the customer to purchase the item.
For example, lets look at the following landing page (one of our plugins):

eStore is there to allow the customer to buy the item, but the main optimization comes from the standard WordPress page.
