You have mentioned clearly on other parts of this forum that invoices cannot be created in WP eStore but instead Paypal allows us to invoice clients. In such cases, I am wondering how to get the invoice from Paypal into the eStore system so that affiliates who referred the client can earn the commission? Are there any ideas?
Alternatively, I thought I could create an invoice page on my site and then create a product in eStore and put the BUY NOW button at the bottom of the page to act as a payment system for invoices that also gets registered in eStore and thus gets into the WP affiliate system too. The only problem I have here is to let the affiliate link lead to this invoice or at least to this client’s section on my site?
Can you help me know what’s the best way to get the payment registered to the affiliate if the customer comes from an affiliate link to the consulting project page ?
Or is there a client management plugin that integrates with eStore?
Thanks for your help.
November 16, 2019 at 3:36 pm #80067wzpModeratorThe main problem with “invoices” is that an invoice is a demand for a future payment. The eStore plugin is “not built” to track future payments; only actual receivables. Ditto for the Affiliate plugin; commissions imply that an actual sale (or receivable) has occurred.
Adding invoicing capabilities would require the ability to track and “roll back” unpaid invoices; which would most likely have to be implemented as a double-entry ledger.

But I am wondering if I can break my consulting assignments into milestones and make each milestone a “product” with a price to be paid. The work can follow the price for that stage of process paid. The same would apply to the affiliate stuation also where affiliaes get paid when milestone payments get paid.
I think we need a hybrid between a BUY NOW and a subscription. The only difference with a subscription is that the time gap between subscriptions should capable of setting at the next due date rather than regularly or monthly.
Would something like this e possible in future?
