I need a customer to be able to register as a member when going through the checkout. (I know that you can set the eStore plugin to only allow for logged in users to checkout but that is not what I want, I only want the option to register and login is not required)
I have put the registration and checkout page together as can be seen here:http://www.robotdwarf.com/screenshot.jpg
I now need a single button that registers the customer in the background whilst still redirecting to the Paypal website for processing (instead of two separate buttons. I’m familiar enough with programming to make some adjustment myself but was hoping you could suggest a way of doing this without me have to do too many customizations. Please could you assist?
The eStore and eMember are two separate plugins so to do what you are after will require a lot of code changes as you essentially want the eMembers register button to also do the Checkout. You will need to look at what the checkout button of eStore does then add that to the eMember’s registration button (I don’t know of any easier way to do this).
Ok, is there a way for the eStore to create an eMember user / WordPress subscriber by capturing the clients details from Paypal once the transaction has completed? If that is possible then I wouldn’t need the registration form.
It would seem quite silly to me for the eStore not to capture client details when they buy from me. What if the client needs support or assistance down the road?
Everytime your visitor purchase something via eStore their details are captured. You can view it by going to the “Manage Customers” menu of eStore. No, eStore do not create a WordPress account for every customer who makes a purchase. It only creates an account if someone paid for a membership account (when used with eMember).
The various registration scenario’s that eMember can handle are explained on the documentation here:
