I have the eMember plugin and the eStore plugin and they should be integrated together (I added the reference ID for each membership level in the corresponding product), but they’re like not communicating. A member will register for a free membership (I set it up that way) and then he goes to buy a product and clicks the link to PayPal, pays, and then gets redirected back to the site, but he doesn’t have access to the membership level he paid for.
I get the money in my PayPal just fine, but they’re not getting what they paid for. I have to go in manually and give them access to the membership level.
Also, when I look in the backend for the product they paid for it doesn’t say any purchases have been made. It’s like they get redirected to PayPal to pay, but PayPal doesn’t tell the plugin that they actually did pay.
Is there something I can do? If I deactivate the plugin and reactivate it or update will it keep all the products or do I have to recreate them all again?

I suspect the payment notifications from the gateway are coming in. Please enable debug in the plugin then share the eStore’s debug file content which will help us see where things are going wrong and why. The following post will help you understand how to enable debug:
