I want to require the customer to enter their email address twice on the registration form. This is to ensure they enter the correct address. My flow is that they enter their details in the rego form then pay with PayPal. eMember will also add theie email addess into Mailchimp. If they enter the incorrect address they will never receive notification that their membership is set up. And they will have signed up a bad email address to mailchimp.
I don’t want to require them to wait for a confirmation email as I am also selling downloads at the same time. I’m using eStore for this. So they can buy a membership and a digital download in one transaction. Forcing them to wait for a confirmation email is likely cause some purchasers to abandon their cart.
Thanks, Steve

Did you know that you can show the registration link on the Thank You page, along with the download link(s)?
March 29, 2016 at 11:04 am #72900thermofunMemberHi wzp,
I don’t think we need that option. We are using method 3.1 in this page https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-membership/a-typical-member-registration-flow-96
The registration page is shown as part of the purchase. However there is no option to avoid a user making a mistake with their email address, and thus not being signed up correctly. That’s why I want to be able to require email address to be entered twice.
Thanks, Steve
March 30, 2016 at 3:02 am #72901adminKeymasterIt doesn’t have an option for double email address. I don’t really think you need it. As soon as they pay and come back to your site, their account will be upgraded (most of the time the payment notification will be instant or completed within a few minutes). When the user makes a payment while staying logged into the site, the email address is not important. The plugin knows which profile to update (from the login) and it updates that profile.
They are also logged into the site, so they can update their email address from the profile (if they want to or made a mistake).
Keep it how you have it right now and monitor it to see if it is really a big issue for you or not.
April 2, 2016 at 9:45 am #72902thermofunMemberThe problem is adding them to our mailchimp mailing list with the wrong email address. And having secure download links sent to the wrong email address.
Both those scenarios have happened a few times already.
