Is it possible to allocate a specific range of values for assigning serial numbers to customers, short of typing them all out individually? I would like to give every customer a unique ID, and several hundred IDs will be required. They don’t need a specific format.

I am using eStore v7.1.4, and I have v2.2 of the Receipt Creator Addon as a fallback.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You can do one of 3 things:

    1. Quick/Dirty and free: Use Excel to “cheat.”

    • Open Excel.
    • In column A, enter the first 5 serial numbers you want to use.
    • Highlight the cells in Column A that contain the starting serial numbers.
    • Drag the lower right corner of the highlighted cells downward, for “several hundred” rows; then release the mouse.
    • Copy the highlighted serial numbers over to eStore.

    2. Become a PHP ninja: Not for the faint of heart.

    • Create a serial number “counter” in the database.
    • Modify the code so that, instead of getting the serial numbers from a stored list, the serial number is read from the counter; which is incremented each time a serial number is retrieved.

    3. Use the (easily guessable) product “sales counter” as your serial number:
