Hi,
Here is what I want to do : whenever someone buy my numeric product he automatically receive by e-mail his affiliate link/count, then he can resell the same product to anyone he would.
I’ve searched the forum and the FAQs (as well as the plugin’s setup) and didn’t find how could I do this.
Thank you in advance.
June 9, 2012 at 12:01 am #45995adminKeymasterYou can automatically create an affiliate account for your customers by checking the “Automatically Create Affiliate Account After Purchase” checkbox from the following settings area:
WP eStore Settings -> AddOn Settings -> Affiliate Plugin Specific settings
June 9, 2012 at 8:05 pm #45996damiencasoniMemberYou rock. Thank you. I may ask you many more questions afterward however.
September 8, 2012 at 2:23 am #45997damiencasoniMemberI’ve try with a friend but it didn’t work.
Simply because he forgot to fill the ID affiliate form…
So it’s not automatic, because people need to know that they HAVE TO fill this form to be affiliate…
Is there a way to make them automatically affiliate without having to fill anything more than just buying the product?
Thank you in advance.
September 8, 2012 at 11:54 pm #45998adminKeymasterNo one needs to fill any form when you use the automatically create the affiliate account feature. Read the help text for the “Automatically Create Affiliate Account” field which will explain what to expect from this feature.
September 9, 2012 at 10:40 pm #45999damiencasoniMemberHere is the text you refer:
“When checked the plugin will automatically create an affiliate account with a unique affiliate ID for the buyer after the purchase. If the email address used to make the purchase already exists in the affiliate database then a new account will not be created.”
This doesn’t help at all sorry.
I checked this box. My friend tried to buy a product (for 0 and this doesn’t work also, Paypal exige for the product to be more than 0 !!) and he didn’t receive any affiliate ID nor is he added in my affiliates list…
Why?!
Thank you in advance.
September 10, 2012 at 7:32 am #46000adminKeymasterWhat version of the affiliate and eStore plugins are you using?
Do the following:
1. Enable debug in the eStore plugin. This post will explain how to enable debug:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/how-and-when-to-enable-debug-and-what-does-it-do
2. Now, tell your friend to do the purchase
3. Share the content of the “eStore_post_payment_debug.log” file so I can see what is going on.
September 16, 2012 at 6:32 am #46001damiencasoniMemberHere is the log file : https://dl.dropbox.com/u/16707004/eStore_post_payment_debug.log
The product was bought but my friend’s e-mail still not listed in my affiliates, althought the “”Automatically Create Affiliate Account” is checked.
Also, despite the fact that I set the price at 0, Paypal displayed to my friend an error message saying that the price should be above 0… he succeed in paying 0.01 euro.
Thank you for your help, I really don’t know what to do.
September 16, 2012 at 9:51 pm #46002damiencasoniMemberSorry… my friend told me he didn’t complete the paiement process yesterday.
He did it now, here is the new log file : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16707004/eStore_post_payment_debug.log
He still can’t pay for zero.
But my friend’s e-mail is well listed now in the affiliate.
It seems to work now because he received an e-mail named “Affiliate Login Details”. I just want now to be able to fully edit this e-mail for my customers.
I’ll find out. Thank you!
September 16, 2012 at 11:39 pm #46003adminKeymasterFirst of all, you cannot do $0 checkout. No payment gateway allows you to do $0 checkout. It is a limitation from the payment gateway. If you are purchasing something you have to have a price amount greater than 0.
With that said, thank you for sharing the debug. I can see that the plugin did try to create the affiliate account. See the following line of debug:
[09/16/2012 9:46 PM] - SUCCESS :Creating affiliate account with Affiliate ID:505648ac5209d
Go to your WP affiliate plugin’s “Manage Affiliates” menu and search for an affiliate with id “505648ac5209d”. Can you see one affiliate user record with that ID?
That would be the affiliate account eStore created after the user purchased the product.
