Hi guys,
Today a customer wrote to me that when they clicked on the download link sent to them via WP eStore, they were shown an error that says “The download link (see browser address bar) couldn’t be found in the wp_eStore database”.
The download link that got sent to them automatically from WP eStore was http://******.com/?enc_dl_action=process&file=t86FuufN2CYVwlgtMw%3D%3D
Similar links sent to other customers don’t encounter this problem. Even when I click the link myself, it shows the same error.
Could you help, please? If this starts happening with more customers, I’ll have a mess on my hands.
Thank you!
August 9, 2016 at 2:28 pm #73902wzpModeratorSometimes, the user’s email client or browser, misinterprets unusually long links; and does not correctly render the correct HTML link. If you manually copy the URL into the browser’s address bar, it will work. One recommendation is to try using the eStore URL shortener:

I’m noticing that this error is happening when links are generated from a page that has the shortcode [wp_eStore_download_link_sender] in it. We use that page for customers to generate fresh download links for themselves in case they miss the access link email. So far I think I’ve only received this error from customers who used this shortcode to generate links.
I’m also using W3 Total Cache plugin if that helps.
Thank you for your awesome support!
August 15, 2016 at 12:16 am #73904adminKeymasterDid you try to use the download link sender functionality yourself? Does it work for you? How many are you getting that doesn’t work? Is there a particular product that doesn’t work?
Did you already try using the URL shortener feature?
August 15, 2016 at 3:49 pm #73905sonalpandeyMemberYes, I’ve tried using the link sender functionality on my own as well. I had actually purchased 4 of my own products. Entering my Paypal email address sends me those links. Every one of those links results in the same error. It is not particular to any product. All 4 products result in the same error. The same products have correctly generated and accessible URLs when the original delivery email goes out from WP eStore. I’m not aware of the URL shortener feature, sorry.

August 15, 2016 at 11:14 pm #73907sonalpandeyMemberThanks, but I’m not using the URL shortener. The links are of the format http://******.com/?enc_dl_action=process&file=t86FuufN2CYVwlgtMw%3D%3D
This has become a crisis now since all the customers who fail to receive the original download link email are running into this error while trying to generate their own link. I’ll appreciate any and all the help you can provide.
