I have a digital delivery product that sells for $35 for “professional” use and want to offer a $10 discount for “personal” use.
I originally set up the product with a variation like this:
License Type|Personal – One Computer|Professional or multiple computers:10
and it worked, except the default was the personal and NOBODY was buying the professional version although I saw the buyers were corporate. I attributed this to the default being the cheaper version.
So, being clever, I changed the “variations” to this:
License Type|Professional or multiple computers|Personal – One Computer:-10
Now, I am getting an error msg and my customers are not getting a download link. The error email says this:
The post payment verification for a payment failed. This could happen for one of two reasons:
1. The fund for the payment have not been cleared yet (no need to do anything as the digital product will be delivered once the fund clears).
2. Someone maybe trying to scam a purchase! (no worries… WP eStore got your back
Here are some more details…
Wrong Product Price Detected! Actual Product Price : 35 Amount Paid: 25.00
Can this be fixed, or should I go back to the original variation setting and promote my cheaper version?

Am still interested in an actual fix.

Creating two different products are fine but you can also do something like the following:
Base Price: $25
License Type|Professional or multiple computers:10|Personal – One Computer
This way by default the price will be $25+$10 = $35 for professional and for personal it will the base prices with is $25.
