HI there, I went through the steps in the estore of adding a product.
I uploaded the product via ftp – put in the file link that was in ftp and went in to purchase the product as a test and now I have received this error message.
“The wp_eStore download manager ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle, and is unable to process your download request. Please contact the site administrator.
Please tell the site administrator the problem was due to the following reason:
The file (on the server) containing your download couldn’t be opened.”
The file I have is 90MB which is why I used ftp. Did I perhaps put it in the wrong place on ftp for it to be seen. It is meant to be a downloadable MP3.
The file has been zipped. Please advise.
October 8, 2011 at 9:05 am #37449adminKeymasterThis is where I have put the file in filezilla *****REDACTED*****
If you email me at *****REDACTED*****@gmail.com I will email you the link I have received from the purchase I did to test the sales process.
Thanks Kayley.
October 8, 2011 at 10:10 am #37450wzpModeratorWhat you should have put into the Digital Product URL field is something like…
http://your-website/blog/wp-content/plugins/wp-cart-for-digital-products/downloads/your-file
Just replace “your-website” and “your-file” with the appropriate names.
BTW, you might want to consider storing your files in another directory, so that you don’t accidentally delete them, the next time you upgrade the plugin…
October 8, 2011 at 10:31 am #37451adminKeymasterFantastic that seems to have fixed that issue.
Is there a way to limit the number of times the file can be downloaded? I didnt’ see that in the instructions.
I’m not sure I understand what you mean by storing them in an other directory. This is the one that was recommended by a moderator on another post I found.
Where would be a better place to store them?
October 8, 2011 at 11:09 am #37452wzpModeratorUnder: WP eStore –> Settings –> General Settings –> Digital Product Delivery Settings
Duration of Download Link & Download Limit Count
This is what can happen, if you keep the files where you have them now…

October 9, 2011 at 12:29 am #37454wzpModeratorOctober 11, 2011 at 4:01 am #37455adminKeymasterI had a look at that link you gave and I’m not really sure I understand what to do.
What I have done is gone into my ftp and put a .htaccess file with the code you gave in that link under my /publichtml file with my website name and gave the file a simple name.
Then I added the mp3 I have to that file, did copy URL link on the file in ftp and used that as the code to put into the estore.
Then purchased the mp3 and this is the link it has given me. http://mydomain.com/blog/wp-content/plugins/wp-cart-for-digital-products/download.php?file=(encryted name)
Is this correct?
I am a basic web user and know minimal web building concepts. For me the instructions were a little advance to understand.
any extra help is appreciated.
