Error message after member signup

I am setting up a members area for paying customers. Everything seems to work until I get to the registration. After registration, instead of being sent on to the page, I have specified for the mebership, I was on the registration page with a message saying “You do not have permission to view this content”

I could, however, click on the restricted content and get access. Can you point me to what I am missing? Thanks
