Hello,
the wp-affiliate have a Bug, some of my affiliate members can’t login in the affilate site. This error exists when the members username have the point. For example:
username: martina.colo –> login not work
username: martinacolo –> work
can you fix the problem?
February 25, 2011 at 12:56 am #29425amin007ParticipantGo to your signup form and enter “martina.colo” in the “Affilaite ID” field and hit “Check Availability”. You will see that it gives you an warning telling you that you can’t choose that as an Affiliate ID. You can only use “letters, numbers and underscore” in the Affiliate ID field.
There is a reason for this… the affiliate ID is appended in the URL which means it will become part of an URL and there are rules for what can contain in an URL for it to be a valid URL. Not all characters can be used in the URL (it can interfere with other stuff). Does that make sense?
February 25, 2011 at 2:58 pm #29426vkmaerkgMemberyes, correct, the problem is that the system has accepted the registration of martina.colo, now when she try to log in the affilate site it generate an access error…
why the system permits the registration with the point?
February 26, 2011 at 12:50 am #29427amin007ParticipantThe actual registration page won’t let the user register (try registering for an account using a dot). I have a feeling you created this from the admin dashboard. The admin dashboard is for admin use only and it doesn’t pose any restriction (there are reasons for it).
February 26, 2011 at 7:55 am #29428vkmaerkgMemberI’ve just checked. You have the reason, the problem is that I have WPEMEMBER & WPAFFILIATE and when account register on emember this plugin permit the use of the point in the username and i need only one registration… The conflict is between WP-EMEMBER & WP-AFFILIATE,”Automatically Create Affiliate Account:” is an option of WP-EMEMBER, the conflict is here. What do you think about?
TNKS FOR YOUR FAST SUPPORT, YOU HAVE CREATE FANTASTIC PLUGIN!
February 27, 2011 at 1:02 am #29429amin007ParticipantIts a tricky situation eMember usernames do not go into the URL so it permits a whole range of characters.
I will add in a condition there so when the affiliate plugin integration is used it will do some additional checking to make sure the username doesn’t contain those characters.
February 27, 2011 at 9:15 am #29430vkmaerkgMemberdo you will create a patch? many times?

March 1, 2011 at 11:03 pm #29433wpCommerceModeratorPlease deactivate, delete the old one and upload, install the new one (the plugin won’t loose any settings value that you already saved).
