Following error is from the download manager debug log:
The secure download manager ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle, and is unable to process your download request. Please contact the site administrator.
Please tell the site administrator the problem was due to the following reason:
The file (on the server) containing your download couldn’t be opened.
It’s a .zip file. When I copy the unencrypted url & paste it in the ‘Run’ box, or address bar in IE, it works. When it’s sent to the customer via email, or is generated in the Admin functions menu, it blows up. Truthfully, it *shouldn’t* be opened, so why am I getting that error? I’ve beat my head trying to figure this out for a good while now, & no success. Hopefully you folks have some answers. I’d certainly appreciate any help.
Using WordPress 3.32 & latest plugin version. The files are located in a subfolder of the public_html directory, not the directory where wordpress is installed. As I said, when the download urls I’ve entered are copied into the browser, all is well–the problem occurs when generating encrypted links.
Please enable the debug log files, in the settings menu, and try another test. Then look in the download_manager_debug.log file and post the results.
If you go through this checklist it will help you identify the mistake:
