Hi,
I’ve tried reading over the forum and testing everything I could find for hours… Here’s the issue I’m having.
Once a user buys the product, a paid membership, he doesn’t receive any directions on how to proceed to set up his account.
He receives two emails from WordPress:
1) Thanking him for his purchase
2) notifying him that his account has been upgraded and he can go log in.
The problem is that the buyer doesn’t receive any link to actually create a password or login details.
If they manually go into the log in page and attempt to reset their password they receive an email with a new password, but there is surely a better way than this, right?
Another issue that I’m not sure is connected is that the registration page that was automatically created simply says: “Free membership is disabled on this site! Please visit the payment page to pay for a membership. Click Here.”
Many thanks,
Itamar.

December 29, 2018 at 1:03 am #78999adminKeymasterIf a user already has an existing user on the site then the plugin will simply update/upgrade that existing profile and apply the newly purchased membership permission to that profile. Looks like you are testing with an email that already has an account on this site. That is why you are seeing this behavior. Go to your WP eMember’s members menu and check to see if you have an existing account with the email address that you are going to use for the transaction. Delete that user account and then test it again to see how a brand new user will see it.
If you enable the debug option in the plugin and do a test transaction, you will see more info that explains what the plugin is doing after the transaction.
Also, please make sure to fully read the following documentation. That documentation will help you understand a few things and answer your other question:

December 29, 2018 at 6:25 am #79000itamarmMemberHi,
Thanks for the reply.
The thing is I already tried that. I deleted all the users and tried and tried again before posting this.
User emails who were never in any way associated with the website still only got that “update/upgrade” email.
I also enabled debug mode and followed according to instructions to check if it has anything to do with something on PayPals end but it wasn’t the case.
In regards to the link you attached, I looked at it before. I’m trying to have “Member Signup Scenario 1” work but to no avail…
Is there anything else I should check in “debug mode”?
