    Hi there,

We’re having good results with eStore and eMember so far — thanks! I am looking to upgrade from eMember 7.9.9 to 8.1.0 (the current version, I think), and when I did the upgrade process specified on http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-membership/wp-emember-installation-upgrade-instructions-3 on my staging server, it obliterated all of my settings (the member list seemed to be ok). Is this unavoidable?

    Thanks.

You should never loose your settings when upgrading. Are you using any caching plugin or does your hosting provider does caching on the server side?

Our host, WP Engine, does server-side caching.

Okay, if the host is doing object caching then this could happen. I have sent an email to get access to the site so I can investigate this and find more details.

    Hi admin,

could you report your findings here? I use the same host (WP Engine).

The issue was arising from object and DB caching that is enabled on the server side. We have added some enhancements in the latest version of eMember that should prevent this from happening in the future.
