Tips and Tricks HQ Support Portal › Forums › WP eMember › eMember – unprotect posts in category protected
Hi Tips ans Tricks team,
I’ve eMember version 8.6.8 and WordPress 3.8.1
I need to set the category protection in our Site, but I need to unprotect a lot of older posts that I need to offer free for all. Is there any way to do it?
I thought that editing the Post Protection Options and checking the “No, Do not protect this content” checkbox, this option would prevail on the overall protection of the category, but seems this does not work.
Can you help me? Any way to do it?
Thanks for all.
The following post is a good read for you:
The protection hierarchy in eMember is like the following:
1) Category Protection
2) Post/page Protection
3) Section/partial Protection
So if a post belongs to a category that is protected, then that post will be protected.
Simply shuffle your post’s category assignment. Move all the new posts (that you want to protect) to a new category or assign a new category to these posts. Then protect this new category. When using category protection, the key is to use multiple categories for your posts then you can use those categories to create sub-sets of protected or unprotected posts.
