eMember-slider not working with eMember plugin

Good evening,

I have installed both the eMember plugin and the Nextend Smart Slider on two different sites with the following result:

The Nextend Smart Slider 2 plugin had been operating correctly prior to activating the eMember plugin. I used the WordPress plugin uploader to install the eMember plugin. Upon activation of the eMember plugin, the Nextend Smart Slider 2 slider does not appear and the space it occupies is blank. One must scroll down past a large blank spot to get to the information on the rest of the page.

I am using the latest version of WordPress, 4.1.1, as it updates automatically.
