Tagged: password field, registration form
Hi all,
I installed eMember on my staging site, and went just *beautifully*. I then installed it on my real site, replicated all my settings, and for some crazy reason was having trouble with the Registration page: the password field stubbornly insisted I was not using at least four characters. It was insisting on this as soon as I touched the username field, and insisted on it after I’d typed seven characters into the password field. Thus it wouldn’t accept a registration.
So I searched here diligently, tried it on various browsers (after clearing the caches completely), performed a deactivate-delete-reinstall, nothing. Same everywhere.
I then went into the admin area to see if I could add a member manually. Yep, no problem.
Went back to the Reg page to see if was reading the manual entry, and yep, it picked up that the username was in use. …But the password error message didn’t trigger – ??
SOLVED for no reason apparent to a non-developer. I don’t know what the deal was, but if anyone has this problem, try adding your first user manually.
Perhaps I’d done this on the staging site as part of learning the admin area first, or maybe it was just a fluke on my real site. But in any case, the second registration went through cleanly and without a hitch!
So happy, love T&T plugins.
