Hello,
I am trying to enable the additional fields you have available e.g. address, city, state, etc. The settings save when I select them and click the update button in the backend, but when I refresh the front-end registration page, I still only see the three default fields: first/last name, email.
You can see my registration page here: http://www.seagrapestudios.com/testingsites/tangerine-jpi/registration/
Thanks in advance for any help.
Best,
Ashley
January 15, 2013 at 3:14 am #53042jerrycMemberThat’s what they call the preregistration page that you’re seeing. After filling that out, the member will get an email to the real registration page with everything else, including choosing a user name. All your included and required fields will be on that registration page. Until they fill that next registration page out, your members won’t have access to your site.
January 15, 2013 at 3:46 am #53043ashleyseagrapeMemberIs there a way to have all of the fields on one page or bypass this first pre-registration page?
Thanks.
January 15, 2013 at 3:47 am #53044ashleyseagrapeMemberOh this page is enabled because of the moderation setting? If so, is it possible they can register like regular and then the registration be moderated afterwards?
Thanks for the clarification.
January 15, 2013 at 4:08 am #53045jerrycMemberThat page is enabled because you have a free registration level. The developers are in the process of making custom registration pages for all levels. Besides me, there have been quite a few other users making requests for this, and they plan on doing something quite extensive. They said it would be a few weeks. If you can get by til then with what you have now, be patient, and I expect you’ll like the upgrade. I’ve never seen a company so responsive to their customers’ needs.
January 15, 2013 at 4:58 am #53046adminKeymaster@ashleyseagrape, Simply uncheck the “Free Members Must Confirm Email Address” feature from eMember settings and you will get what you are after?
January 15, 2013 at 7:13 pm #53047ashleyseagrapeMemberThanks Jerry and Admin for your responses. The upgrade sounds interesting.
@admin, I was hoping the new registrations would still have their email addresses confirmed, but not having to have the registration form broken up where the rest of their info is added later. Can I still have the email address confirmed from the full registration form? Is this possible?
Thanks for your help!
January 15, 2013 at 11:25 pm #53048adminKeymasterThe only true way to confirm someone’s email address is if you send them an email telling them to click something in there and they do it. The registration form is actually not broken into two. It is not even shown to anyone unless they click on a special link sent to their email after they fill out that little form.
There are obviously other ways to do the same thing but given our existing architecture, this seemed like a good way to do it.
