Hi,
Hi,
I am working on a website with free membership for the protected pages, that require people to register to see. I want to be able to approve the users before they log in, so have checked “Manually Approve Member Registration”, “Allow Free Membership”, and “Free Members Must Confirm Email Address” so they receive an email to tell them their membership is pending (I don’t want them to automatically get an email saying they can log in).
Then I can go in and approve their membership and UPGRADE their membership to the next level which is also free but they can actually view the content. However when I do this no email gets sent? How do i enable the ‘Account Upgrade’ email?
I only set it to ‘Upgrade” because I couldn’t find how I could send an email to users only AFTER i had approved their membership.
Please help!!
I have now set the original email to say ‘pending approval’ then I manually upgrade the user who receives the OK to log in in the ‘upgrade’ email. But the user only receives the first email and not the second? I have checked. How do I enable sending out this second email?
Help!!!

November 6, 2012 at 4:02 am #51055adminKeymasterWhat version of eMember are you using?

November 14, 2012 at 3:54 am #51057adminKeymaster@julienfontaine, Please enable debug in eMember so we can see if the emails are being sent by the plugin. If the plugin is sending the email (which I think it is) then you will need to take a look at this checklist to see where this email might be getting lost:
December 10, 2012 at 2:32 pm #51058anusha65MemberHello sir,
I have a problem that, when the member pays for the membership, he don’t receive the registration link to his mail.
I have used directly pay pal for payment and I have created the pay pal button according to the instructions in your site. So,please kindly solve my issue.
My site is [www.best-opportunity.com]
and you can see the pay pal button in [http://best-opportunity.com/join-us/]
Thanks,
Anusha.
December 10, 2012 at 11:05 pm #51059adminKeymasterHi Anusha, I don’t know how you created your PayPal button but that button is messed up.
Did you create that PayPal button in your PayPal account? The button seems to have a bunch of garbled characters in it. Also, remember that PayPal gives you a the button code in HTML format. So in your WordPress editor you will need to go to the HTML view then paste the button code in the post or page.
Please verify that you logged into your PayPal account and created the PayPal button following the video tutorial on this page:
Once you have done the above, enable debug and run a test transaction which will reveal any remaining issue. This post will explain how to enable debug:
December 11, 2012 at 5:07 am #51060anusha65MemberHello sir,
Well in the tutorial, it was mentioned that, we need to check the settings in the wp- e store plugin. But we dint purchase that plugin. We purchased wp-eMember and wp-Affiliate plugins.
I have checked the two log files:
ipn_handle_debug_eMember and subscription_handle_debug.
But I see that the ipn_handle_debug_eMember log file is empty. Please guide me to solve the issue.
Thanks,
Anusha.
December 11, 2012 at 11:45 am #51061anusha65MemberHello sir,
we have tried creating the paypal button again and tried the test transaction but could get registration mail.
This time we found a difference that, both the log files ipn_handle_debug_eMember and subscription_handle_debug have data and we have searched for the word “failure”, but its not present in both the files.
So we don’t understand what could be the problem. Please kindly help us to solve this issue.
Thanks,
Anusha.
December 11, 2012 at 10:03 pm #51062PeterMemberHi, I have looked at your log files and I can see that the eMember plugin has definitely sent the registration email, ie, the following line demonstrates this:
[12/11/2012 3:06 PM] - SUCCESS :Member signup/upgrade completion email successfully sent
So, everything worked correctly this time as far as the plugin is concerned. The email is getting lost between your server and the inbox.
Please go through the checklists in this link to troubleshoot where or if the email is getting blocked/lost:
