Hi T&T,
I’m absolutely loving this plugin, and am using it with WP-eStore (affiliate to come later).
I think I’ve got my game plan using all the goodness at https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/membership-upgrade-renewal-and-cancellation, but have one remaining element I haven’t been able to pin down specifically:
– When a membership level expires and the plugin presents a “renewal” option/button, how do I specify a different membership level, rather than just repeating the one that expired? And how do I show this only to that member?
We’re close to it here: https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/wp-emember-make-upgrade-starting-at-end-of-current-subscription, and I see how to use the expiry notification, but that still leaves the purchase page exposed. (Or maybe I can put it on their account page??)
I’m thinking the answer lies somewhere in here: https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-membership/how-to-create-payment-buttons-for-membership-upgrade-189 or in here: [wp_eMember_upgrade_membership_level_to level=2] but I can’t quite see it. I can’t see how to offer it only to people who’ve purchased a particular membership level.
Below is what I’m trying to accomplish and how I’m thinking to configure it, in case it helps.
Thanks so much for your help, either confirming my plan or showing me a better way!
Cheers,
Lisa
________
GOAL: To offer multiple completely unrelated memberships (Apples, Oranges, and Grapes), with the Free Membership as baseline and always the Primary Level. Currently only have the Apples membership available.
I want Apples to function like this: (A) one standalone month at single fee, ( option to continue access indefinitely at monthly rate, and (C) the ability to manually grant complimentary months via the admin area (3, 6, and 12 months). ( and (C) wouldn’t be in play simultaneously, but it’s why a single membership level that’s “$100 for first month, then $10/mo until canceled” won’t work (unless I’m missing something). I have to be able to offer months of access as a unique function for other purposes.
BUILD: Configure signup path according to “eMember Demonstration Video: Member Signup Scenario 2”; in Enable Secondary Membership, check first box to enable assignment of multiple memberships (but not second box re re-assigning primary membership).
Then for Apples, create five protection-identical membership levels: (1) The original standalone month, (2) ongoing paid monthly access (active until canceled), (3) manual 3 months, (4) manual 6 six months, and (5) manual 12 months. This should allow me to create different “pricing table packages” of various prices for the standalone month using eStore, and then let them continue with monthly access if they choose, while also giving me the ability to grant months manually. And then I present only (1) for sale on the Join Us page using my eStore shortcode. Correct?
I think I’m there, I just don’t know how to make the paid monthly access option visible *only* to members with that expired standalone month.
Thanks so much!

1) Create a page on your site called “Renewal” or something like that.
2) Protect this page for members (all membership levels should have access to this page).
3) Now on this page you can put the purchase button for all the membership levels (just like you do on your “Join us” page). You can even have discounted price here since these will be used to renew the account.
4) When a member wants to renew, he can go to this page and pick the level he wants to renew/pay for.

Gratsi, Key Master!
