MemberHey
I have a clients website with eMember installed. When members join and login they are directed to another URL (client wanted a whole new look website). This URL is not protected or locked down (eMember plugin is on the parent website) – anyone who knows the URL can just type it into the browser and they can view all content.
I thought about putting the eMember plugin on the new website but do not want people logging in twice.
There are only two pages plus home page with content at the moment.
Version wordpress 4.9.6
Version eMember 10.0.4
Parent website is adriennesmillie.com.au/
after joining-logging in your redirected to naturalhealththerapist.com
Also when being redirected to member website it opens in the same window, I would like it to open in new window.
Can you please guide me in locking this down.
Many thanks in advance
cheers Leonie

ModeratorThere is no way for eMember to protect content on a “child site,” when it is installed on a “parent site.”
WordPress plugins only work in the install where you installed it. For example: if you install the Akismet plugin on site “A”, then it is only going to work on that site.
You could try installing eMember on the child site and then on the parent site, use an iFrame; that contains the login page of the child site.

MemberHi thank you for your reply.
I don’t think I explained myself well enough – sorry.
The PARENT website is AdrienneSmillie.com.au
This website has eMember installed but does NOT have a child theme.
The membership INFORMATION site is installed on Naturalhealththerapist.com
This has a child theme but DOES NOT have the eMember plugin installed on Parent or Child.
The member joins through the PARENT website and is then redirected to the INFORMATION website – which is a totally separate website.
If I added eMember to both the parent and child theme of the INFORMATION website would the member have to log in again after the redirection?
Maybe Another alternative would be to add the information site as a sub domain but would I be correct in saying that the same situation would happen – it still wouldn’t be protected and the member may have to log in again.?
Looking forward to clarification
cheers Leonie

ModeratorMy original answer & solution still stands…
If you install eMember on AdrienneSmillie.com.au there is no way for it to protect any of the content that is on Naturalhealththerapist.com because they are 2 different WordPress instances.
