Are you using the eStore plugin for membership payment? If you are then also update the eStore plugin too from the above URL.
Perfect i will upgrade, but i solved the problem. the default WP role was set to author for new user registration, however the eMember plugin for that particular member level was NOT set properly and was set to contributor despite thinking they were set otherwise. with WP & eMember now set to the same parameters, the user roles are now operating as intended.
Sorry for the massive delay in replying to my original thread, I’ve been so busy I have not had a chance to upgrade the plugin and test everything out.
I am happy to report that everything appears to be working now. The last few users who have registered appear to be given the proper forum permissions as well. I’ll report back if anything goes wrong but the fix appears to be working, thanks so much!
