I have updated the plugin to latest version but somehow all erorr messages have stopped.

On login no error message appears in case of incorrect user/password or user doesnot exist etc.

and on registration page, ajax validation seems to have stopped after the plugin update and only one error message is shown.

Please wait for 10 seconds before submitting the form again. No extra plugins have been installed.

but I’ve retained some js/css files for my customization

A Little help would be useful, refer to the registration page via this link http://goo.gl/JGcLh

It seems to be missing all the JavaScript files that eMember includes which is why its failing to do any of the validation and show error messages. First try without any personal hacks of the eMember plugin (add them slowly after you established that the upgrade is working fine).

You have the following JavaScript/JQuery error on your webpage which is preventing other validation related JavaScript from working:

uncaught exception: Could not find Overlay: #prompt

I am 100% sure that the factory build of eMember doesn’t have any error like the above so it has to be coming from some other JavaScript code conflict. Do this quick test to narrow it down then you will be able to find out the source of the error:

Also, can you please go to the “Forms/Pages Settings” menu of the eMember plugin and then do what the help text of the “Password Reset Page” field says?
