My client wants a member who is not logged in to be able to click a button, go to a purchase page, log in there, and stay on the purchase page. The member can have any one (or more) of 28 membership levels. Currently we have all logins going to a members home page, and want to keep it that way.
I am aware that login redirection can be done globally or by membership level, and we use both capabilities. But in our case, we cannot predict the membership level of the person clicking the button, nor do we want them to go to the purchase page every time they log in – just when they click that button.
So, what we need is a login that redirects to a page not specified in the member level or the general settings.
I have searched the documentation and the forum and have not found anything that would do this.
I would be pleased if WP eMember could already do this (though embarrassed that I couldn’t find it). However, if it doesn’t, my client is prepared to pay for the necessary modifications since we would be using this feature frequently in the future.
July 16, 2014 at 1:29 am #64371adminKeymastereMember doesn’t do what you are after but we can add an option for it.
Will you be able to append query parameter in the URL from the button that you created?
Something like the following:
example.com/login-page/?no-redirect=1

Yes. That can be done.
July 17, 2014 at 4:24 am #64373adminKeymasterokay we have added a new option for this. Check the update I sent to your email.
When someone goes to the login page with an URL like the following, it won’t do the after login redirection even if there is one set in the settings:
example.com/login-page/?no-redirect=1
January 24, 2016 at 7:11 pm #64374acb323MemberHello,
When my members login in from an article, so they can read more, I don’t want them to be re-directed to the home page…
However, when they login from the login page or login widget, I want them to go to the member home page…
How is this done?
January 26, 2016 at 12:51 am #64375adminKeymasterI have added a new option for this in the “inline login widget option”. This will only work for the inline login widget (won’t work if you are using fancy login).
When using the inline login widget option, You can enable the following option in the settings
Prevent After Login Redirection When Logging in via Inline Login Option
This will keep the users on that post/page (when they log into the site using the inline login widget of that post/page).
I have sent you an email with the update so you can start using it now.
