I have created 2 levels of membership levels. Al members starts as pending members, then if they are approved they become standard members manually. And the next level is elite which only part of the standard members become. No mail is sent out when i change the level from standard to elite – is it done the same way as going from pending to standard – manually?

Yes, if you manually change the membership level and want to send an email then you use that manual email sending option when you edit the profile.
Most admins don’t want to send email to the member and annoy them whenever something in their profile is being updated/changed. So you use that “email notification” option when you want to send an email.
Thank you – but when you go from standard to elite I think it is nice to know Extra new features.
