Hi, I have eMember installed. I have three white papers on my site (www.digitalclaritygroup.com) that I need to be able to track to find out which authenticated users have viewed them. How would I go about getting this sort of report?

There is no built in solution for this. Usually you handle this kind of stats via an analytics solution (example: Google Analytic).

Here is a tutorial that should help you get familiarized with Google analytic events tracking:

Unfortunately, that doesn’t help me. GA just tracks *that* it was clicked, downloaded, etc, but not *who*. And considering that the user is authenticated as a member, I presumed I’d be able to see that information and track by member. So much for assumptions.

I guess the only way to do this would be to set up eStore and have the member “buy” the report via the cart, even if the fee is $0.00, so that I have a record of who bought what. Then they can add the reports to their cart and checkout. Does that sound right?

On the Internet, “Who” is a relative term.

Yes, you could do that; assuming the identities of your members are correct.

Although, if the buttons are to be located on a members only page; perhaps a squeeze form button might be sufficient; as a $0 cart purchase will invoke the manual checkout page.

Here is an addon for it:
