Tagged: expired status, inactive status
Hi,
I’m trying to understand when and how a members status will change from active to inactive or expired
This is my scenario
I have a members who belong to multiple membership levels. Each membership level ends at a different time. When will the member’s status change to expired and when would he change to inactive.
And does his WP role change with the status change.
Thanks.
Hi, this post will explain more on this:
This helps some. However I have multiple membership levels and I’m setting the ‘Expire After Date’. So I want to know what status gets set and also what WP role is getting set.
I also have a simplepress forum which uses the WP Role. I see if I manually set the member to ‘Expired’ then the member tries to login he can still access the forum. Because he still gets logged into WP
However I notice that if I set a member to ‘Inactive’ it removes the role. And when the member tries to login he does not get logged into WP.
It always takes in account the “Primary Membership Level” for account expiry purpose. It gets really messy and complicated if the account needs to be expired based on additional levels.
An expired user will only be allowed to log in if you have enabled the “Allow Expired Account login” option in eMember settings. Some sites have usage from that option but if you don’t want this behavior then do not enable that feature.
Hmm Something to think about
Thanks
